[Coating Example] Surface of Stainless Steel Plate Used in Printing Machines
The adhesion of the resin has been reduced, and a decrease in defect rates is expected! Here we present examples where the appearance has improved compared to existing products.
The company that manufactures and sells stainless steel is facing issues with printing defects caused by foreign substances sticking to card-type resin products during printing. They also seem to be struggling with appearance quality, delivery times, and work-in-progress. We proposed a "TiN coating" after confirming each situation. By applying a TiN film coating that improves resin release properties (releaseability) to the surface of the stainless steel plates used in printing machines, we can reduce the sticking of resin and expect a decrease in the defect rate. [Case Study] ■ Company: Stainless steel manufacturing and sales ■ Issues: Reducing defect rates, appearance quality, delivery times, and work-in-progress ■ Improvement Proposal - TiN film coating to enhance resin release properties on the surface of stainless steel plates - Conducted cleaning tests considering various types of dirt, including water-soluble and insoluble contaminants - For wiping streaks, ion bombardment treatment was performed in a vacuum device - Due to the large equipment, productivity is high, and TiN film coating can be done for small lots in about two weeks, allowing for management without work-in-progress *Details of the case study can be viewed through the related links.
